High-performing homes, shaped by organic architecture.
Homes at The Plateau are envisioned as a natural extension of the landscape, thoughtfully designed to sit lightly on the land and support a quieter, more considered way of living.
Regenerative principles guide every stage of the journey, from the placement and design of each home to the materials, systems and landscape choices that shape it. Clear building guidelines and carefully considered covenants help protect the character of The Plateau while allowing each home to respond to its site, its owners and the surrounding environment.
Our comprehensive Buyer Information Guide brings together the key information needed to begin, including design guidelines, covenants and the development process. We have also curated a network of trusted architects, builders and suppliers who share the vision for The Plateau and can help bring your home to life.
A place to flourish
Our vision is for architecture and landscape to exist in harmony.
Homes will be carefully positioned within the natural contours of the land, preserving space, privacy and connection to the surrounding bush. As native vegetation regenerates, architecture will become part of a living landscape where people, wildlife and the natural environment can flourish together.
The Plateau is not conceived as a conventional subdivision. It is a considered response to this place and an opportunity to create something enduring: a community grounded in stewardship, thoughtful design and a shared appreciation for the land.
Here, home is more than a building. It is a place to rest, reconnect and embrace a slower, more intentional way of life.
Simply Elevated Living.

Homes envisioned for the land
Created by Bob Burnett Architecture for selected sites within The Plateau’s first release, these concept homes demonstrate how high-performing design and organic architecture can respond to the contours, outlook and natural character of the land.
Each offers a distinct architectural expression, united by generous glazing, sheltered outdoor living and a strong connection between home and landscape.
Kererū
The largest of the three architectural concepts, Kererū is a refined two-storey home designed to capture expansive views and draw the surrounding landscape into everyday life.
At its heart, a dramatic double-height living space creates a sense of openness and light, while an upper-level mezzanine offers elevated views into the surrounding nature. Generous glazing, broad rooflines and sheltered outdoor spaces strengthen the connection between inside and out, creating an environment inspired by shinrin-yoku, the Japanese practice of finding restoration through immersion in the forest.

Kōtuku
Kōtuku is a quietly elegant split-level home designed to settle naturally into the contours of the land.
The living and bedroom zones step gently with the site, creating subtle variations in ceiling height beneath its distinctive wing-shaped roofline. Floor-to-ceiling glazing draws the surrounding landscape into the bedrooms and living spaces, while the wide covered deck extends the home outdoors.
The most compact of the three concepts, Kōtuku is spatially efficient and deliberately restrained, embracing simplicity, sensitivity and a quiet connection to place.
Korimako
Korimako is a refined mid-sized home defined by its sculptural roofline, dramatic ceiling heights and strong connection to outdoor living.
Discreet and understated on approach, the home opens to reveal voluminous living spaces oriented towards the northern sun, with privacy and expansive views to the west. Large areas of glazing draw the landscape into the interior, while a generous outdoor room with a louvred roof creates a sheltered, all-weather extension of the home.
The broad stepped deck leads naturally into the surrounding greenery, creating an inviting place for gathering, retreat and everyday life outdoors.

Built for comfort, efficiency and wellbeing
Homes at The Plateau will be designed around proven passive building principles, creating healthier, more comfortable and more energy-efficient places to live.
The Passive House approach is an internationally recognised, science-based method of building that reduces the energy required for heating and cooling while improving indoor comfort, air quality and long-term performance. At The Plateau, these principles will inform the design and construction of each home, adapted to its site and the West Coast climate.
Five core principles guide this approach:
The aim is not simply to use less energy, but to create healthier, quieter and more comfortable homes that perform beautifully over time.
Aligned with the Superhome Movement
The Plateau’s approach reflects the values championed by New Zealand’s Superhome Movement, a nationwide network of architects, designers, engineers, builders, tradespeople and suppliers working to improve the quality and performance of New Zealand homes. The movement advocates for healthier, more energy-efficient and environmentally responsible building. These values align closely with The Plateau’s commitment to high-performing architecture, considered material choices and homes designed to serve their owners and the landscape well into the future.
