The Plateau Ethos

Shared Ethos Sustainability...

Shared Ethos Sustainability refers to the existence of a widely accepted set of fundamental values, moral principles, and collective character that guide decisions and actions toward environmental protection and social equity within a community or organization.

Sustainability isn't a solitary pursuit; it's the shared foundation of a thriving community. By collaboratively adopting eco-conscious practices, from local materials sourcing to using  renewable energy, we don't just protect the environment - we build social resilience, economic opportunity, and a strong sense of place for every member.

We, as the driving force behind the Plateau development, will ensure that every action taken, every decision made and every step forward will be for the benefit out the pristine environment that surrounds us.

Our Commitment to a Sustainable Ecological Footprint...

We declare that ecological balance is the ultimate measure of our success. Our work is fundamentally guided by the principle of living within the means of nature - ensuring our collective demand for resources does not exceed the local environment's capacity to regenerate.

We are not aiming merely for efficiency, but for regeneration. Our mission is to secure local resources for future generations and demonstrate a pathway for the community to thrive without consuming the natural capital of our environment. This commitment requires collaborative action across every sector - from energy and food to waste and water - to ensure our footprint is sustainable, equitable, and restorative.

Our Commitment...

The Plateau is committed to save and protect native New Zealand bird and wildlife, which include threatened species and ecosystems. By building a community of like minded people who are passionate about systems and values which align to ours, we can create a sustainable shared ethos.

One project we are committed to is the development of the Bird Sanctuary within the Plateau site, a dedicated space where native birds are nurtured and protected.

We are excited to share this project with you.
